It is a super quick read and for those who bristle at any reference to God or the likes, be forewarned that these fellas are Christians and do make mention of such matters in the book. However, I am not a Christian and I found this book to be very helpful and enjoyable!
My word jumped out at me very quickly: Fearless. This word has been coming up for me for the past couple of years, and I had decided to make it a personal goal to become - to reclaim - my fearlessness.
Our journeys are unique in every imaginable way, but I have say having that moment when my word almost appeared in front of my face was pretty spectacular! Somehow, over the past few years, I learned some bad habits and lost my fearless mojo along the way. Granted, things like becoming a parent causes one to pause and possibly be a bit more conservative in one's choices, but I found that I was becoming a totally risk adverse, scaredy cat!
Well, this is the year when all of that changes. There's a quote that I see all the time and truly resonates with me today:
"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom." - Anais Nin
For the year, I will make choices based on being fearless whether it be changing careers, (finally!) pursuing my dream to write, or inviting romantic love back into my life - these are just a few of the ways I am going to explore how to be less fearless. How about you?
